I love all variations of bomb pots in pot limit games because people play so bad in them. As said I haven’t objected to it when I play just wondering in some ways if it is a neutral ev gamble or actually costs money. in a limit game it just seems not great too me since most hands will be unplayable and there isn’t the potential upside like there would be in a pot limit game. I can see in a pot limit game that maybe with the larger multi-way pot people would play badly and get stacked more often etc. I am asking from a theoretical perspective how much worse is it for a good player in a limit (not pot limit) Big O game to participate in the bomb pot (used for time collection as described above) vs the normal process for time collection (paying the collection amount and playing the next hand normally). Are you concerned about the non raked portion? Bomb pots are fun and +ev for good payers so not sure why you woudln't want them?

I played big O in vegas for wsop and they did a similar bomb pot for theh time rake collection. Man i've read your post like 5x and am still unsure what you are asking. Or is it really just basically a wash? Interested in thoughts. But I wonder does the bomb pot typically cost good players more than standard collection because they are often folding hands and use positional advantage etc well. When that happens everyone pays time like normal but people usually give them grief. My question is this…I generally go with the flow so I don’t object to bombs but some players do. To me this is all random as anyone can happen to be in the blinds for that hand or in whatever position. When it is a bomb pot no blinds are posted (so whoever would normally be in the blinds just puts up the 15 or 20 like everyone else, then the flop is dealt and betting action begins, the button moves forward as normal at the conclusion of the bomb pot). In both cases, bomb pots are frequently used to pay time (for example if the time is six dollars there is typically a 15 dollar bomb pot where 9 from each person goes into the pot and six from each person goes to time collection, other times it is a 20 dollar bomb pot etc).
